How much are you claiming on expenses?

by Money Doctor Tuesday 27 February, 2007

Expenses are a touchy subject!

Plastic Surgeon's monthly expenses forms have been a constant source of amusement for Matron when he tries to claim money back for things that he clearly shouldn't!

But the truth is, he is far from alone. It seems to be that more than a few employees in this country are falsifying their expense forms!

Expensive gifts, holidays, wine, taxis; you name it, people claim it!

A recent survey shows that employees swindle their bosses out of nearly £1billion a year!

Switch your bank account and get £100!

by Money Doctor Monday 26 February, 2007

More and more banks are now charging us account fees, or monthly maintenance charges, but why?

Well, it's clearly something to do with the high numbers and success rate of many of you claiming back unfair banking charges!

Banks don't like to lose money, and with more than 1 million of us having downloaded complaint forms from consumer websites, and with more than £50 million being refunded in penalty charges, banks will continue to lose a whole lot more money!!

So they want to get some of that money back and so one way of doing this is through having account charges!

Most of us don't want this to happen but there are some banks that are (at present!) committed to free banking. A few are currently offering great interest rates and cash incentives to entice us to switch to their (free) current accounts.

Halifax is even offering you £100 if you switch to one of their current accounts!

So if you are fed up with being charged to gain access to your money, then maybe its time you switched?
