Bank robberies and burglaries are no laughing matter if you happen to be caught up in one.
But often they do provide us with humour, normally because the perpetrator is clearly lacking in basic IQ!
A few classic examples of this are the robber who failed miserably, a bank trip that comes to a crashing halt and possibly the worst robbers in the world.
Now we can add an annoyed bank robber who vowed to file a complaint after finding the cash drawers empty at the bank he went to rob!
Joseph Goetz, 48, planned to rob the Susquehanna Bank branch office in Spingettsbury Township in Ohio but left empty handed, promising he would let the bank managers know of his dissatisfaction police said.
Lt. Scott Laird of Springettsbury Township Police said Mr Goetz had walked into the bank just after 9 a.m. and demanded money from three cashiers, who were still waiting for their cash drawers to be filled.
The first cashier screamed and fainted to the floor and when he demanded the money from the second cashier, she told him she didn't have any and showed him an empty drawer. When he asked for the cash from the third cashier, she too said she had none and also showed him an empty drawer, Laird said.
The disgruntled robber then left the bank empty-handed after telling the tellers he would file a complaint about the situation.
A customer at the bank's drive-through area thought he saw something suspicious and followed the robber and called police. An officer who happened to be patrolling nearby pulled the robber over less than a mile from the bank.
Mr Goetz is now being held in York County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
We’re keen to know if he still plans to lodge a complaint with the bank…
