The second best job in the world?

Picture 064 Not that long ago we were all talking about the best job in the world and now this could be the second best job in the world.

How would you fancy a £20,000 3 month long holiday…and call it work?!

Travel firm Lastminute.com is offering you the chance to apply for a role entitled the Globe Trotter.

All you have to do is simply visit eight countries across three continents and write reviews on flights, hotels, gigs, restaurants and theatre shows via a blog.

You will travel over 32,000 miles, spend over 60 nights away and visit Dubai, New York, Egypt, Paris, Barcelona and Las Vegas.

If you end up being the lucky candidate, you will experience a 'five-star lifestyle', but without a salary.

…however, the entire £20,000 cost of the trip will be covered for you!

No experience is necessary and no qualifications are needed for the role and Lastminute.com hopes the job will give the opportunity of a lifetime to one of the millions of us left without work here in the UK.

If you want to enter, you must send a photo of yourself having "a seriously good time" on holiday, and a review of no more than 200 words describing your experience by July 15 to oneheckofasummer@lastminute.com.

A panel of industry experts will vet all applications, before the lastminute.com Globe Trotter is chosen at the end of July.

Mark Bower of Lastminute.com said:

‘40% of UK workplaces have been affected by the current economic climate so we are expecting a positive response.

There are some incredible people out there and as a company that champions making the most of free time, lastminute.com wants to help the nation enjoy its way out of the doom and gloom’.

The competition follows in the wake of the Tourism Queensland's 'Best job in the world', which saw Briton Ben Southall beat 34,000 rivals from 200 countries to be crowned caretaker of Hamilton Island on Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

So, what’s not to like about 3 months all expenses paid travel as a job?
